What do you need to do to be involved?

Note: the information below has been left on this page so that you can see the timeline for the 2007 Reach for the Stars activity. Although these dates have now passed, you are still welcome to use the activities.

Now Register your school - and tell colleagues about Reach for the Stars!
From July 2007 Explore this website so you can plan your involvement.
Decide whether you will have a whole school event, or just get involved as a single class -- or something in between.
Before National Literacy and Numeracy Week (3-9 September 2007) Involve your students in some preliminary activities -- if you choose to.
During National Literacy and Numeracy Week Collect and record details about your group’s heights and 'foot sizes'.
Before 9pm on Friday 7 September 2007 Submit your school’s data online - and be entered for a chance to win a new Apple MacBook for your school!
Tuesday 11 September and beyond Receive a summary of the information provided by pre-schools and schools across Australia (this will be sent by email to registered participants).
Undertake activities in which your students investigate the data -- as many or as few as your program allows.

Some teachers in your school might choose for their class to be involved only in the core activity of measuring and reporting on their 'foot sizes' and heights, while others might find some activities they want to use in the “more activities” pages -- that’s fine!

The principle is that each member of staff can be involved as much or as little as suits them and their learning program.

You might like to identify a Reach for the Stars coordinator at the school. There is information to help them in this role on the Coordinator's page.
